Davis RIA hires trio amid preparations for holding in-person meetings once again.

DAVIS, California—April 29, 2021—Symphony Financial Planning, a fee-only Registered Investment Advisor in Davis, today announced that it has welcomed three new team members into the fold: Matthew DeTorres as Operations Manager, Mike Paulson as Technology and Trading Manager, and Valaree Nash as Administrative Assistant.

“We were thrilled to find three quality candidates for the positions,” said firm founder and President Paul Meyerhoff, Ph.D., CFP®. “They’ve joined us at a crucial time since we are ramping up to hold in-person meetings once again. To ensure we’re meeting proper health and safety protocols post-COVID, we need to make everything as efficient as possible. Matt, Mike, and Valaree are doing their parts in that regard—as are all the team members.”

Meyerhoff added that virtual meetings will still be held over Zoom for clients who prefer them.

DeTorres, Paulson, and Nash bring specific skill sets and responsibilities to the fiduciary wealth management firm:

Matthew DeTorres, Operations Manager: Matt was hired November 11, 2020. His responsibilities include the policies and processes that keep Symphony Financial Planning consistent, efficient, and compliant. He handles marketing, manages vendors, and works directly with senior management to ensure Symphony is serving its clients to the highest standard. His military experience and diverse professional background contribute to him successfully leading the charge.

Mike Paulson, Technology and Trading Manager: Mike started with the firm on January 28, 2021. His focus is optimizing the firm’s technology tools so that our financial planners can focus on clients rather than computers. He also supports our financial planners by building financial plans and rebalancing client portfolios.

Valaree Nash, Administrative Assistant: Valaree began working with Symphony on March 31, 2021. She is responsible for a variety of tasks, including customer service, scheduling, and event coordination, and plays an integral role in process development and implementation. Her background is grounded in client service (banking, nonprofit management, sales), and she thrives in environments where she is making an impact by supporting business operations and working with people.

Altogether, Symphony Financial Planning now has eight team members, including three CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ (CFP®) professionals. The firm serves the Davis community, including university educators and professionals, state employees, and retirees.
