Symphony Financial Planning to Host Works of Autistic Artist Simon Eisenberg

Art Sale Proceeds to Benefit Horeseplay Therapeutic Riding Center

DAVIS, California—October 7, 2016—Symphony Financial Planning announced today that it will host the works of artist Simon Eisenberg as part of the firm’s participation in the 2nd Friday ArtAbout activities in downtown Davis.

All proceeds from the sale of Eisenberg’s art will benefit Horseplay Therapeutic Riding Center, located in Dixon and serving Yolo and Solano Counties, which offers therapeutic recreational horseback riding for special needs children and adults.

Eisenberg, 29, was diagnosed with autism at age 3. He showed his artistic ability early, but it was only after a high school teacher began giving him lessons that his talent flourished. Today Eisenberg, who lives in Vacaville, works with art teacher and coach Steve Ceccato in weekly sessions. Eisenberg works primarily in watercolor and pastel, and the joy that art gives him is evident in the color-filled pieces with broad strokes and bold autographs.

Symphony Financial Planning will host a reception from 5 to 8 p.m. October 14 at the firm’s office, located at 416 F St. in downtown Davis. The public is invited to meet the artist, view his works on display, and enjoy light refreshments. Admission is free.

Eisenberg’s show, titled Animals, Animals, Animals!  will be on display from October 1 to December 31, and can be viewed during regular business hours.

“We’re excited to host this exhibition,” said Paul Meyerhoff, President and Founder of Symphony Financial Planning. “Simon is a gifted artist, and we are thrilled to offer a venue where he can share his perspective with the Davis community. That the proceeds from art sales will benefit Horseplay is even more gratifying for us.”

Horseplay’s year-round program is designed to develop strength, balance and self-esteem for individuals with conditions such as cerebral palsy, spina bifida, Down syndrome, and brain injury or head trauma. Last year, sales of Eisenberg’s prints generated over $2,000 for the nonprofit organization.

Davis Downtown holds the 2nd Friday ArtAbout series each month. The self-guided art walk includes art viewings and receptions, as well as music, complimentary wine and refreshments, and opportunities to talk with artists.
